A recent edition of Site Selection magazine details how Amgen, a multinational biopharmaceutical company, found the right fit in the New Albany International Business Park’s Health & Life Sciences innovation cluster. Sandra Rodriguez-Toledo, Amgen’s vice president of site operations, credits the City’s speed and collaborative approach to development as well as the area’s diverse workforce and partnerships with colleges to supply workers. “Given our accelerated timeline, it has been remarkable to see how we have been able to make the impossible possible,” said Rodriguez-Toledo. “It was an aggressive timeline to build building one, and now we are ready to move on to the next phase of our expansion in Ohio.” This expansion will more than double operations, creating approximately 750 new jobs, a $75 million annual payroll, and a total investment of $1.4 billion.
