
Mount Carmel New Albany, the first healthcare system to invest in the City more than 20 years ago, now offers emergency services to businesses and residents. The new emergency department that opened last year encompasses more than 8,000 square feet of space on the first floor of Mount Carmel New Albany, 7333 Smith’s Mill Road. Originally founded in 2003 as a specialty orthopedic and neurosurgery hospital by a group of surgeons who also practice in New Albany, Mount Carmel New Albany was acquired by Mount Carmel in 2006. The specialty hospital focuses on inpatient and outpatient orthopedic, neurologic, and musculoskeletal care with technologically advanced and was among the first organizations to anchor the New Albany International Business Park’s Health & Life Sciences industry cluster. The 2011 expansion and emergency department underscore its commitment to adapt and grow to meet the community needs. It recently added women’s health services as well.
