Women Business Leaders Earn National Recognition

Two New Albany business leaders, Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Fran Horowitz and Sandra Rodriguez Toledo, vice president of site operations at Amgen, are capturing attention and accolades for their leadership. Horowitz was named to Fortune magazine’s 2024 list of Most Powerful Women, a ranking of female business leaders across the country. After taking the reins in 2017, she led a turnaround breathing new life into the company which recently posted record sales growth. Fortune noted Horowitz has done “what most people would have once thought impossible.” Rodriguez Toledo was recently inducted into the Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame. She oversees Amgen Ohio a 300,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility here, that’s a game changer for the global biotech industry. The facility went from groundbreaking to FDA approval in just 26 months, the most rapid site completion in Amgen’s nearly 45-year history.
