The last of four extra-large “superloads” arrived at Intel’s Ohio One campus last month. Weighing more than 900,000 pounds and nearly the length of a football field, each of these massive deliveries, took more than a week to travel from Adams County in southern Ohio to New Albany. The ACU air separator cold boxes extract gases from the air that are then used to manufacture chips. Intel’s $28 billion investment, the largest private sector investment in Ohio’s history, will boost chip manufacturing in the United States to meet growing demand. Spanning nearly 1,000 acres, the Intel “mega-site” can eventually accommodate a total of eight chip factories as well as a growing number of suppliers and partners. VIEW VIDEO
