Survey Underscores Childcare Workforce Needs

Results of a recent childcare survey conducted by Grow Licking County Community Improvement Corp. indicate the need for approximately 3,815 new childcare spots to meet area demand. More than 800 individuals who live, work, or attend school in Licking County participated in the survey. More than 80 percent of respondents have children or anticipate having them in the next five years. Fifty six percent have considered leaving their jobs due to childcare needs while 46 percent have someone in the household unable to work full time due to childcare demands.
