The City is one step closer to creating a new Veterans Memorial to honor those who have served, while expanding Rose Run Park. A donation from The New Albany Company will enable the City to move forward with its plans for the memorial as well as begin development of Rose Run Park Phase II, a significant next step forward in the expansion of green space and parkland. Mayor Sloan Spalding and Bill Ebbing,The New Albany Company president, recently announced the company will donate two acres of land adjacent to New Albany Village Hall and the existing New Albany Police Department as well as land that formerly housed the police station and a fuel station. The City worked with planning and landscape architecture firm, MKSK, and a focus group composed of New Albany residents, veterans, and veterans’ advocates to create the plan.
