The City’s new pickleball complex won a second-place award at the annual Ohio Parks & Recreation Association Awards of Excellence recently. The pickleball complex, which opened last summer at 7300 Walnut Street, includes 16 tournament-level pickleball courts suitable for all skill levels. It is located adjacent to the New Albany Public Service facility and the Michael Lucey Memorial Basketball Courts. The site also includes a 64-space parking lot plus parallel parking along the service drive to accommodate up to 40 vehicles. The courts are currently “open play” while a reservation system is being developed.
