Construction is underway on a new pickleball facility for the city that will be located adjacent to the New Albany Public Service facility and the Michael Lucey Memorial Basketball Courts at the northeast corner of Walnut Street and Bevelhymer Road. Planned improvements include 16 pickleball courts, parking and landscape enhancements. The project is expected to be completed in mid-June. Can’t wait? New Albany Parks & Recreation have added pickle ball lines to the tennis courts at both Bevelhymer and Thompson Park. Combining elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, the game is easy for beginners to learn and a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.
