September in New Albany offers a wide range of community events that bring residents, employees and visitors together to enjoy some of what the city has to offer from the New Albany Symphony Orchestra’s Latin Night and the A&F Challenge to Oktoberfest. On September 9, NASO Conductor Luis Biava brings his Columbian heritage to the stage with samba, cumbia and paso doble to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and kick off the orchestra’s 15th season at the Hinson Amphitheater. Founded by Abercrombie & Fitch Co. in 2001, the A&F Challenge is a fun-packed fundraiser supporting organizations locally, nationally and globally that empower youth, teens and young adults on their journey to becoming who they are. Enjoy live music, food and drinks, including a beer garden, as well as a zipline, axe throwing and photo booth.
Presented by the New Albany Chamber of Commerce, Oktoberfest is a two-day community festival from September 23 to 24. This free family event features food vendors, live entertainment, beer, wine, cocktails, the OSU game on the Super screen and a beer garden. Kid Zone activities include bounce houses, balloon twisters, face painters, caricature artists, photo stations and more!
