The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is offering up to $5,000 in dollar-to-dollar matches to central Ohio companies that develop programs that motivate employees to drive less as part of its Gohio Commute initiative. The application period for the first round of funding closes September 30. A second round of funding opens on November 1. MORPC’s Commute Action Fund provides grants of $5,000 to companies with over 1,000 associates and $2,500 to companies with less than 1,000 associates.
The funds, awarded on a first-come, first serve basis, are designed to motivate companies to create more sustainable commuter options for workers. MORPC’s goal is to decrease single-occupant vehicle commutes by 20 percent, help companies deploy new mobility options and encourage permanent behavioral changes related to modes of transportation.
