Abercrombie & Fitch Inks Renewable Energy Deal with AEP

Two New Albany-based companies have struck a deal to expand renewable energy use beginning in 2023. Global retailer, Abercrombie & Fitch has signed a 13-year, 100% renewable energy supply agreement with AEP Energy for its New Albany corporate headquarters and two distribution centers. The agreement will deliver approximately 30,000 megawatt hours annually and will eliminate approximately 16,000 metric tons of carbon from the atmosphere each year as part of A&F’s overall energy goals.

“The shift to renewable electricity in our New Albany corporate operations will contribute to our overall energy goals of reducing Total Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, said Kim Harr, Senior Director of Sustainability at A&F Co. “We developed our goals in line with science-based climate targets and international agreements including the UN Global Compact.” The company outlines its Sustainability Development Goals on its website.
