The Community Development Department has modified certain procedures to enable active residential and commercial construction projects to continue despite the closing of city offices. Meetings are being held via video conferencing unless in-person meetings are deemed necessary. Permits and applications can be dropped off and picked up from 8 am to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through a no-contact system.
A large tote labeled “Permit Drop-Off” will be placed at the rear entrance to Village Hall. Appointments are necessary to pick up applications and permits. The department is accepting payment via telephone and has set up a system to schedule payments and pick-ups to avoid contact between all parties. It is also conducting about 80 percent of inspections remotely using various forms of video conferencing. Twenty percent is being conducted on site following the Governor’s order to limit groups of people. Details of the modified operating procedures can be found here
