American Electric Power Company, Inc. has selected New Albany for its first newly designed power poles that will replace the traditional tall, wooden poles dotting the landscape with a design that offers aesthetic and performance advantages. The Breakthrough Overhead Line Design (BOLD) has been touted as a critical advancement in overhead lines that can achieve greater capacity and efficiencies by increasing usage of the right-of-way while reducing structure heights to address visual and environmental impacts.
