From the Classroom to the Business Park

In recognition of Manufacturing Month, New Albany High School chemistry and environmental science students recently spent the day exploring career opportunities in manufacturing and engineering at the New Albany International Business Park.

Students toured Vertix and Pharmavite, getting a firsthand look at working in modern manufacturing and learning about careers being created right here in New Albany. They took a bus tour around the Intel site and learned more about the business park and the companies that call it home.

The day continued at Innovate New Albany, where students had lunch at Brick House Blue and learned about opportunities and career pathways from the Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (COMP).

The experience gave students the opportunity to connect their classroom studies to real-world careers and see how their interests in science and the environment can translate into opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, and other growing industries.

A special thank-you to Pharmavite, Vertix, COMP, and New Albany-Plain Local Schools (NAPLS) for helping make this extraordinary experience possible and connecting students with real-world opportunities right here in New Albany.
