Every year on July 25, communities nationwide observe National Hire a Veteran Day to recognize the skills, leadership, and discipline that veterans bring into the civilian workforce and to encourage employers to recruit them. Several New Albany businesses, including Actalent, Aetna, Amazon, Amgen, CVS Health, DaVita, Discover Financial Services, and QTS, were recently recognized in U.S. Veterans Magazine’s 2026 list of Top Veteran Employers.
To mark the occasion, we interviewed Jim Miller of the National Veterans Leadership Foundation, a New Albany organization that partners with more than 90 universities across the country to help veterans and military-connected students transition into thriving academic and professional careers.
