Reconstruction of Beech Road is expected to begin in September, bringing infrastructure improvements that will enhance traffic flow and support continued growth in the New Albany International Business Park. The project spans Beech Road between Smith’s Mill Road and Jug Street. Most of the corridor will be widened from three to four lanes, the Jug Street intersection will be expanded to improve traffic flow, and upgrades will include new pavement, curbs, storm sewer, street lighting, and traffic signals.

Construction is expected to continue through December 2027. Business access will be maintained throughout the project, although traffic patterns will change during various phases of construction, including a period when Beech Road will be restricted to northbound traffic only.

Business representatives from across the Business Park got a firsthand look at the project at a public meeting on July 22. Attendees from more than 20 businesses met with the City of New Albany Public Service Department to review construction plans, discuss the project timeline, and ask thoughtful questions. The meeting provided an opportunity to share information and continue working together as we invest in infrastructure that supports the long-term success of our community and Business Park.
