As New Albany continues to grow, the first medical center to move into the community, Mount Carmel New Albany, is growing with it and expanding its services to include a new cutting-edge emergency department. Opening in October 2024, the new facility will house eight beds, including five standard emergency rooms, one trauma room, one sexual assault nurse examiner room, and one behavioral health room. “The new emergency department will allow us to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our community, ensuring that residents have access to emergency care in their backyard,” said Diane Doucette, president and chief operating officer of Mount Carmel New Albany, Lewis Center, St. Ann’s, and Dublin.
