City Riders, Volunteers, Funders Support Pelotonia

From its inception, New Albany has played a key role in the annual Pelotonia Race for the Cure which includes routes that go through as well as end in New Albany. Since the event started 15 years ago, New Albany city leadership and police officers have enthusiastically embraced their role providing support along the bike route. More than 150 volunteers and 405 riders collectively raised $1.3 million in 2022. Local peloton team, Girls with Gears founded by Lisa Hinson, Hope Wolman and Lesley Sowle, has raised nearly $1.5 million for cancer research in the last 14 years. Bath & Body Works and the American Electric Power Foundation are major funding partners. Now, one of New Albany’s newest companies, Pharmavite, a national vitamin brand, joins the team to support the race. GET INVOLVED
