With warmer weather on the horizon, it’s a great time to check out the numerous parks, trails and recreational facilities available throughout New Albany. With six parks as well as Swickard Woods Arboretum and its Nature Preserve, the City offers ample green space for recreation and relaxation. Managed by the New Albany Parks & Recreation Joint Parks District, the 145-acre Bevelhymer Park, hosts seasonal adult sports leagues and features baseball, softball, soccer, football, basketball and lacrosse fields as well as tennis courts, pickleball courts and playgrounds. For those who prefer wheels, there are 55 miles of leisure trails for walkers, cyclists and joggers.
