Egg Hunt, Galas, Founders Day Coming this Spring

The city of New Albany, New Albany Chamber of Commerce and several nonprofits are hosting spring events that are open to the public. The New Albany Chamber of Commerce’s New Albany Springfest Egg Hunt takes place April 16. New Albany Women’s Network’s An Evening In New Albany will be held April 22. The Chamber’s Business After Hours will be hosted by the Courtyard by Marriott on May 12. The Marburn Academy’s 40th Anniversary Gala is April 23 and New Albany Founders Day takes place May 21. The Easter Egg Hunt is a free family event at the New Albany High School Football Stadium and includes a helicopter egg drop and egg hunt as well as activities including photo selfie stations, face painting, balloon twisters, caricature artists, bubble station, petting zoo and food trucks. The New Albany Women’s Network’s casino themed “An Evening in New Albany” takes place at the New Albany Country Club to raise money for the NAWN Endowment Fund.

 

Marburn Academy will host its annual gala at the Lincoln Theatre as well as virtually in support of students who learn differently. The event, anchored by Angela An, WBNS-10TV Morning News anchor, will feature the Inaugural Hicks Award for Advocacy presentation, dancing and auctions.

 

New Albany Chamber ‘s Business After Hours hosted and sponsored by Courtyard by Marriott New Albany offers an evening of networking, complimentary appetizers and beverages from its new Bistro menu, exciting giveaways and tours of the newly renovated property.

 

The annual Founders Day Celebration was started by the New Albany Historical Society in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. The annual event which attracts 7,000 people each year celebrates the founding father’s development of the area now known as Plain Township and the City of New Albany and is funded by donations.
