Amazon Fulfillment Center to Hire 1,000 New Employees

Amazon is investing $250 million to build a new fulfillment center in New Albany with a first-floor footprint of 700,000 square feet where it expects to create 1,000 new jobs by the end of 2024. The minimum aggregate annual payroll for those new employees is estimated to be $31.2 million. Construction of the new facility, on 100 acres on the west side of Beech Road and south of the State Route 161 interchange, began last fall and is slated for completion in August 2022.

New Albany is also home to an Amazon Web Services data center at 2570 Beech Road NW. The company is building additional data-center facilities on the east side of Harrison Road and north of Innovation Campus Way as well as at the northeast corner of Beech Road and Jug Street.
