Accel Inc., a New Albany-based contract assembly manufacturing company, was recognized as an Outstanding Diversity Organization by Columbus Business First in its annual Diversity in Business Awards program. The annual program recognizes inclusive organizations that encourage diversity in age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion in local workplaces. Accel was among the first companies to move into the New Albany International Business Park.

According to Tara Abraham, founder and chairwoman, providing mini-bus transportation to team members in underprivileged communities helps to ensure that associates can get to work even if they don’t have access to reliable transportation. Accel was among a list of 10 honorees that included Nationwide, Encova Insurance and COSI. Honorees were selected with the help of outside judges recruited by Business First based on applications submitted by nominated people and companies.
