Court Suspends Municipal Income Tax Refunds
Share this story

A lawsuit filed in 2020 challenging employers’ municipal income tax withholding during the pandemic for employees who reside outside the city of employment has resulted in a suspension of potential tax refunds. Employers are required by law to continue withholding the taxes. Employees can complete and file a refund request Form 10-A, available at RITA, the Regional Income Tax Agency. Depending upon the final court ruling, the agency will issue the refund on behalf of the city of New Albany or notify employees that they are not eligible. Employees can check the status of refund requests by setting up an account on the RITA site. LEARN MORE
